The Ballads, es un disco recopilatorio de Mariah Carey lanzado en Octubre de 2008 (Enero de 2009 en Estados Unidos). El disco contiene algunas de las baladas más exitosas de Mariah Carey, de su etapa en Columbia Records. The Ballads fue editado por Sony Music en Octubre de 2008 para el mercado internacional, buscando ventas para la campaña navideña. Más tarde se editó en Estados Unidos para la campaña de San Valentín.
En 2010, pensando también en la campaña de San Valentín, se re-editó el disco en Reino Unido, excluyendo su clásico navideño «All I Want For Christmas is You», y cambiándole el nombre y portada por el de LoveSongs. De cualquier modo, las ventas de The Ballads y Love Songs se consideran parte del mismo CD.
